About - NUCAR-2023

The 16th Biennial Symposium on Nuclear and Radiochemistry (NUCAR-2023) is being sponsored by Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and organized by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in association with Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists and Allied Scientists (IANCAS) at the DAE Convention Centre, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai – 400094. NUCAR is a popular symposium among R&D communities of DAE and other academic institutes which is organized once in two years and fully funded by BRNS. It covers a wide range of topics like Nuclear chemistry and Nuclear Probes, Chemistry of Reactor Materials, Chemistry and Spectroscopy of Actinides, Chemistry of Fission and Activation Products, Nuclear and Radioanalytical Techniques, Applications of Radiopharmaceuticals and Radioisotopes, Environmental Radiochemistry, Nuclear Safeguards, NUMAC & Nuclear Forensics and Nuclear Instrumentation. Technical program covers talks and presentations on both front end and back end of nuclear fuel cycle of atomic energy program. This symposium attracts participation of a large number of delegates from National laboratories, universities and research institutes from India and abroad, and serves as a platform for effective interaction among the scientists engaged in research in the areas of Nuclear and Radiochemistry and Applications of Radioisotopes. BARC, in association with IANCAS has organized NUCAR symposium throughout the length and breadth of the country in the past to popularize the subject of Nuclear and Radiochemistry among research institutes and to highlight the peaceful use of Nuclear Energy.
